My boss is out of the office for a few hours so I thought I’d take a break. Anyway I still have tons of work ahead and this is going to be a very short post. I just wanted to share something weird that happened yesterday.

So yeah, the other night I had this dream where my next door neighbor died in a car crash. Obviously I’m the queen of weird dreams so I convinced myself this was another one of my freaky dreams. But then yesterday I heard from my mom that our neighbor has passed away. The one who just died is not the same neighbor from my dream but still this whole story leaves me with a peculiar feeling. What the hell?? I dreamed about my neighbor dying and days later, I found out that one of my neighbors has actually died! That is so disturbing! O_O Gosh, now I have to inquire about the poor guy’s cause of death. I just hope he wasn’t involved in some car accidents! Ahem.

On a totally different note… Do you know that if Facebook was a country, it would now be the 6th most populated nation in the world? Facebook has become the chic portal for millions to find old friends, meet new friends and track the activities of each effortlessly. Ok yeah I admit it. I stalk on facebook. Hahaha! Oh wait, don’t get me wrong. I’m not the psycho type of stalker. I stalk when I’m bored. Period. Nothing bad with that, right? *blush*

Dreams are the mirror of our fears. Not premonitory messages from the after-life, nor flashforwards of our conciousness. The death of your neighbour is a mere coincidence. Believing in premonitory dreams is like believing in astrology: sheer nonsense.

I don’t think my dream was a premonitory one. Anyway I don’t believe in premonitory dreams or in dream significance.
I guess the dream I had about my poor neighbor was just a coincidence but it’s still an odd coincidence.

hmmm, about neighbour -> that’s really sad to hear! about dream -> hmm, dunno! it has never happened to me but i have heard about similar experiences from lotsa people…so,don’t worry, you are not alone! the truth is out there!!!

There are 3 types of dream, (according to my theory and belief)
1. that of the tired and worried mind, these dreams can often be like someone you haven’t met in a while or some other past memories which resurface because there has been an event which has triggered your subconsience which creates an association to that event and you unconciously think abt it.

2. Dreams triggered by the forces of Evil (which I call Satan).
Satan in the muslim faith was given the power by Allah (God) to lead people astray till the end of the time ie till what we muslims refer to as the day of judgement (also known as apocalypse). So Satan can sometime manipulate ur dreams so sometime you can have weird dreams or even nightmares, these are acts of satan.

3. Dreams that are a premonition to what is going to happen.
sometime God wants you to be warned of what is going to happen, whether this is good or bad, but it is often disguised under the form of smtg else. But it doesnt need to happen exactly at the time. Sometime you go through a situation or meet a person or you can be at a place, and you will have this feeling that you have done this before or been there or even met that person.

It is very important (according to my belief) that you keep your good dreams to yourself and if you have a weird dream you have to speak to someone who is truthful to you and they can try and give you an interpretation of your dream.

In the Quran (which is the holy book of the muslims), there is a Story of a Prophet called Yusuf, there was a king who had a dream which is as follows (I quote from a translation of the Quran):

43. And the king (of Egypt) said: “Verily, I saw (in a dream) seven fat cows, whom seven lean ones were devouring - and of seven green ears of corn, and (seven) others dry. O notables! Explain to me my dream, if it be that you can interpret dreams.”

The king wanted to know what his dreams were so he was sent to Yusuf (Joseph in the Bible ) who interpreted his dream as follows (Quoted directly from the translation of the Quran link http://quran.muslimways.com/surah12.html ):

47. [(Yusuf (Joseph)] said: “For seven consecutive years, you shall sow as usual and that (the harvest) which you reap you shall leave in ears, (all) - except a little of it which you may eat.

48. “Then will come after that, seven hard (years), which will devour what you have laid by in advance for them, (all) except a little of that which you have guarded (stored).

49. “Then thereafter will come a year in which people will have abundant rain and in which they will press (wine and oil).”

This is why I think that dreams are important and maybe God did want you to know that one of your neighbours was going to Pass away.
I do believe strongly in some dreams.

Noo you haven’t bored me at all! I’m always keen to learn new things and reading your theories and beliefs on dreams was very interesting.

Frankly speaking I’m not at all familiar with Chinese medicine. But maybe if you ask at your bookstore, they can help you find some great books on the subject. I googled the web for Chinese medicine but there’s like millions of articles and I’m not sure which ones are good enough.

Sorry I couldn’t help you on this one. I might look Chinese but I’m kinda fake! o_O I don’t even speak the language so… *hrmmm*

To azra,

I took Mandarin classes when I was in primary school but I was super lame at learning the language. At home no one speaks Chinese so I’m not really exposed to the language. But I still remember how to count from 1 to 10 and I know how to say the usual stuff like : hello, thank you… ect! Yayyy!

To azra,

Since I was so lame at learning Mandarin at school, I quit after a few years. But now I have some regrets. Lately I’m seeing a lot of people taking classes to learn a foreign language and I realize I screwed up when I was a kid. I should have been more focused and maybe today I would have been able to speak fluent Chinese!

But I agree with your hubby that Mandarin isn’t easy to grasp.

All Saints day is on Sunday and yes it’s a holiday but it’s a waste ’cause Sunday is already a day off work for most people! Monday is the arrival of indentured labourers and it’s a holiday too. Omg, we would have had a very long weekend if the 1st of November hadn’t been a Sunday! 4 days off work!
