Day 04 – Habit!
Jul 31st, 2010 by Angele
Morning peeps! Happy Saturday
. Any plan for the weekend?
I’m kicking off the day with yet another challenge.
Day 04: A habit that you wish you didn’t have
My name is Angele and I’m a hair twirler. Yes I like playing with my hair!
I know some people twirl and play with their hair to deal with anxiety or stress but it’s not like that for me. The thing is I enjoy the feeling of fingers running through my hair! *hrmm* Does that make me weird? O_O
So far, me twirling my hair has never really been a major concern. I’m not addicted nor is it a sign of OCD! Seriously, I don’t mind my quirky habit. It’s just playing and twirling loose strands of hair around my fingers when I’m bored. No big deal, right? I mean, I’m definitely not like those hardcore hair twirlers who develop compulsive behaviors and even pull out their hair –> ![]()
I call my hair twirling a pacifying habit. Now, is it a habit I wish I didn’t have? Honestly? It has never interfered with my daily activities so who cares? If you had super sleek and shiny hair like me, you’d love to play with your hair too!
in those movies, girls twirl their hair \ play with their hair to be flirty / cute!
LOL, I think it’s an interesting habit! :D don’t try to get rid of it
Somehow I always thought girls who do that are sexy, especially if they gaze out of the window, chew gum and wear a skirt. Don’t I have a point? :P
I could be suffering from OCD :-) I wrote about my OCD signs when I took Psychology 101 and got good marks. Was this a sign that I have an OCD?
To Meli,
I think it’s kinda cute too.. if you know how to do it the right way!
To MKL,
You nailed it
But maybe I’ll cross out the chewing gum part! Chewing gum is not very sexy hahaha!
To Patrick,
You are not a hair twirler too, are you? *lol*
What are your OCD signs? I’m getting curious.
@Angele
Do you really want to know? I don’t know where to begin. Some of them are no longer habits since Angelica’s birth. I used to hand wash my delicate clothes in Mauritius and iron them myself while making sure that there was no wrinkle. I used to iron my clothes in Canada as well. But since Angelica’s arrival, I have not done much ironning.
I would do a U-turn just to check if I have closed the garage door. I take my car in for inspection any time I hear a rattle. They must hate me at the dealership. I can go on and on like this :-) For example, most people only buy one computer keyboard. I bought a few mechanical keyboards last year.
To Patrick,
You’re among the few people I know living in Canada who actually iron clothes! Seriously!
Most people don’t bother o.O They just put it in the dryer and tadaa!
Hahaha maybe you do have some minor form of OCD! But I guess it’s still ok. As long as it doesn’t get worse like washing your hands repeatedly or counting to a certain number over and over!
@ Angele
True. As long as it does not get to the point where I’m washing my hands over and over, I’ll be okay.
I just love the feeling of wearing a well-ironned pair of trousers. I forgot to mention that at some point, I was even starching them before ironning them. I like the crisp feeling. I don’t anymore because of lack of time. What we do now is buy clothes that are wrinkle resistant. We put them in the dryer for 10 minutes and then hang them. This method works great.
However, for things that I like, I tend to buy more than one. I have a few mechanical keyboards and a few fountain pens. That said, I have one wife :-) I love my wife a lot, but one wife is more than enough :d
