The pictures say it best
Jul 2nd, 2010 by Angele
I’m super happy that the week is finally over! My sleep patterns have been pretty chaotic since I got back from vacation and I intend to catch up on my beauty sleep this weekend.
Wanted to post a bit more about my trip to Singapore but I’m feeling brain dead at the moment. I don’t think I’ll be able to write a decent post so I’m uploading some random shots instead!
Clarke quay at night
Clarke quay is a historical riverside quay in Singapore, located upstream from the mouth of the Singapore River and Boat Quay. It was the centre of commercial enterprise in the late 19th century. Today, the restored warehouse features a whole range of restaurants, wine bars, nightclubs and retail shops.

Sentosa island

This one is for you Manju! ![]()

Chilling @ The coffee bean & Tea Leaf

Storytelling comes alive!

Oops I think that’s me with the Gingerbread man! ![]()

A Labrador on the beach at Sentosa

The merlion! RAWRRR!!!!!!

And some funny pictures when taking the MRT – Mass Rapid Transit

Why are durians not allowed in the MRT?? (O_o) Is it because of the pungent smell? And how come the amount for the fine is not stated?
I hope you’ve enjoyed the photos! I’m off to bed now. Wishing you people a delightful weekend! ![]()
mouahahaah no durians!! they probably confiscate so that they eat the fruit themselves! you didn’t take the cable car to sentosa?
Ohhhhhhh…… you been to Xinjiapo? So great…. :D I been to all these places, I miss it… What was the part you liked most?
To Kit,
I took the MRT to Vivocity mall and then rode the Sentosa express monorail. Hahahha! I’m scared to ride in cable cars… *blush*
Anyway, from what I heard, the cable car has been closed until mid 2010 for renovation.
To MKL,
It took me like 5 minutes to realize that Xinjiapo was actually Singapore in Chinese! Stupid me!! (=_=”)
Hmmm, every place I’ve been was awesome and different in its own way but I have to admit I so liked the great ambiance with views over Clarke quay and the Singapore river. And the malls of course! Omg, I think my sightseeing tour was mostly in shopping malls!
pigeons -_____________________-
*kinda scared* lollllllllllll
closed space, durian smell…..that kinda explains it all haha
Oh gosh!! Your fantastic photos reminded me of my trip there way back in 2008… I wanna go to Singapore again!!
The labrador looked so sad and wet :(
Didn’t visit the casino or universal studios?
Hey ur pictures are great, it must have been a great holiday! no wonder u had holiday blues, I havent been on any vacation this year!I can wait for baby to come and then we can go somewhere on vacation! even if it was for a short weekend i would be grateful!
You take great pictures! I’ve never been to Singapore. If you were to compare Singapore, but I have the impression Singapore is very “concrete.” Am I right? Toronto is very concrete too.
To Manju,
Ohh I didn’t realize those birds were in fact pigeons until you mentioned it! Hahaha so pigeons they shall be! Anyway, you’re the first person I know who’s scared of birds! O_o Mauvaise experience dans le passé??
Speaking of durians, they definitely have a very strong smell!
To day-dreamer,
Malaysia is just a few hours away from Singapore if you travel by coach. You can plan a getaway anytime!!
To Clive,
I know but I swear he wasn’t sad at all because there were children playing with him on the beach and he looked happy and full of energy!
To PinknPurpleLizard,
Nooo
Tickets for Universal studios were quite expensive (around $70) and since I’ve already been to Universal studios in Florida a few years back, I wasn’t that much interested to visit the one in Singapore. I’ve heard that it’s pretty much the same.
To Azra,
Yeahh amazing holidays indeed!
You guys should plan a trip to Mauritius after the baby is born. I’m sure your family will be thrilled to see the baby!
To Patrick,
I’m trying to take decent pictures but thanks
Hmm… yeahh Singapore is indeed very concrete… more or less like Toronto although I’ve seen some green places in Singapore but not in the city. I know many people who prefer the countryside but as for me, I’d rather be living in the bustling city. I like the wild and vibrant atmosphere, the people always on the move, the “concrete” as you call it
.
TOP TOP FOTO!!!

To day-dreamer,
The durian smell turns me off!
Nice night photo shots!
Clarke Q is a nice place to chillax .. It is very crowded especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
