Edible bouquets
May 2nd, 2009 by Angele
Fruit flower arrangements are becoming more and more popular nowadays as decorative pieces for all kinds of occasions. They make the perfect gift wrapped as a beautiful delicious bouquet and works equally as a dinner table centerpiece. The popularity of fruit flower arrangements is the scope of creativity that they provide. Fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate, flower shaped pineapple, honeydew ball flowers, apple wedges with gourmet chocolate and topped with drizzles, flowers playing hide and seek among the fruits and blushing blossoms is what a beautiful fruit flower arrangement is all about.
My cousin Joan who lives in Toronto has been doing a lot of fruit flower arrangements since last year. I saw some of her work and I have to admit that she’s very good at what she does.
Here’s a few pictures of her creative work.

Very nice and tempting, don’t you think?
Too bad Joan’s fruit flower arrangements are not delivered all the way to Mauritius. They are prepared fresh on the day of delivery so that she’s selling her showpieces in Toronto, Canada only.
You want to see more? Visit her blog and have a look at her amazing work.
I think fresh and beautiful fruit flower arrangements add a touch of color with a uniqueness not found in ordinary arrangements. Creative, unique, healthy and completely edible, they are the perfect gift for your loved ones, friends, co-workers… anyone. A lovely gift for someone who already has everything. Also great as a beautiful table centerpiece for any party or gathering you host or attend, sure to put a smile on everyone’s face and have them talking.
OMG they look so so so so so pretty!!
I wish I could have one…
Oh wowww!!! who’s your cousin?? I’m totally gonna try to go to Toronto just to get one of those now… who knows? maybe some romance will come out of this encounter?!
hahahah
tell your cousin she’s got skills
wow, if I had those as a centre-piece for a dinner, I would have ended up eating the whole bouquet!!
“
Last night at a dinner, they used marshmallows in the centre-pieces and by the end of the dinner most of the marshmallows were gone!
To day-dreamer,
Yeah I agree. They’re so pretty you wouldn’t want to eat them!
They look beautiful and I’m sure they taste yummy too! I wonder, what’s the inside made of? If it a pure fondue or cake-like?
To if_I_had_one_wish,
I can see the future and I can tell that you’ve already won my cousin’s heart
Yeah definitely Joan’s got skills. She’s creative and it shows in her fruit flower arrangements.
P.S : Hahaha I know who you are
The name from your email address seemed familiar but just to make sure, I checked it out again on Jo’s facebook.
To Morinn,
Have you seen such fruit arrangements in Mauritius? So far, I haven’t encountered any.
Yummylicious idea
No wonder all the marshmallows were gone after some time! *lol*
Marshmallows huh?
To Carine,
For sure the fruit arrangements look yummy! Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to taste them
Since it’s mostly fruits covered with chocolate, I’d say fondue but then again I’m not the expert. I’ll ask Joan and maybe she can give us more details.
Hey everyone! Thanks for taking the time to comment on my work!
To Carine: Do you mean the inside of basket? hahaha it’s actually either a flower foam or a lettuce head. The fruits actually get really heavy, so a strong base is required. If you are ever in Toronto let me know!
To If_I_Had_One_Wish : MOnkey is that youu?? Hahaha if so, muahh! if not… I take that back!
I’m really trying to start up this business, but i’m not too sure how to go abouts doing it. does anyone have any experience in starting up their own business??
Cheers!
WOW!!!!!
Just looking at those pics made me wonder whether I need an insulin shot…
To Joan,
You’re up quite early for a Sunday morning! And yes I think If_I_Had_One_Wish is your monkey
Hahaha.
To The Moody Minstrel,
wow. These are incredible. i wouldn’t want to eat them though… they look too good. It’s a pity to eat them.
Opps I read wrongly
Yeh it’s fruits inside and I thought it was cake-like inside
And then instead of writing “fondant” I wrote fondue! haha.
ohhh my…

makes mi wanna eat them all!!! Never saw this kinda fruit arrangement around! wish i could have one of them! ‘
To Aline,
Hahaha! I think the same too! They’re way too pretty to be eaten!
To Carine,
And stupid me replied to your comment by writing “fondue” as well!
To Maliha,
I don’t think we have that sort of fruit arrangement in Mauritius. I haven’t seen any so far!
Although they’re edible and very tempting, I wouldn’t want to eat them because they’re soo lovely
Ahhh Angele, I’m happy that you can predict the future!! hahaha
And I like the way you made it sound… however I was trying to see how jojo would react to having a secret admirer… hahaha I guess it didn’t stay a secret for as long as I wanted it to be… oh well!!! hahaha OH hey, how come you didn’t add me as a friend on facebook yet then?? I like your blog btw
it reminds me of the time when I used to have MI!! hhahaha wow quelle epoque!!
on another note, I ate those strawberry and apple chocolate dips!!! and they’re amazing… Joan usually makes tons of extras, or when I’m there (and supposedly be helping her), I’d just mess some strawberry dips so that she can’t use them on the fruit basket… well then guess what?!?! hahahah I am the one eating them!!! hahahah
And to Joan:
/ hahahha almost got you!!!! alright i’ll talk to you later
muaaaahhhh
Won’t be too possible to have fruit flowers in Msia. Why? Flies, bugs and ants will have a buffet. Plus the heat and humidity will destroy its beauty b4 it can be admired. Sigh… The trouble with living near the equator.
It looks lovely btw and ur cousin must have quite a bit of patience to do this.
To if_I_had_one_wish,
I’m happy to know that you like my blog… but please don’t compare it to MI!
Having an account on MI was that part of my life when I was so young and naive!
I like to think that I’m more grown-up today. Hahaha!
To Pinknpurplelizard,
Yeah I bet a lot of patience is needed to achieve such beautiful fruit arrangements!
To Bruno,
No wonder
They’re so lovely no one can resist them.
Delicious and nice edible bouquets. I have never heard about this nice and creative idea before. I love edible bouquets. Thanks for sharing.
Bookmarked, I love your blog!
