Niagara Here I come!(Day 2)
Jan 11th, 2007 by Angele
On my second and last day at Niagara, I went to visit the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens. Because of the winter season the gardens were not at their very best but I still managed to go to The Butterfly Conservatory.
In a tropical rainforest setting, people could explore an ingenious network of pathways among lush and exotic flora.
Everywhere exquisite butterflies float in the warm, moist air or spread their iridescent wings on leaves and flowers. It was very hot inside the conservatory and the air around was so damp. Just for one minute it reminded me of my far away tropical island
.
*Popping enormous eyes*
OHHHHH…So colorful and uniting perfectly in the green luxuriant vegetation.
Take a look at this one:
Do you see the big spot on its wings? Sounds like an eye…
Definitely a camouflage technique!
Butterfly butterfly?? Where are you hiding?![]()
Oh my god! Do you see what I see?
A teeny weeny mini Niagara Falls!!!
Mwahahahahaaaaaaaa
My 2 days tour at Niagara went by so fast. I’ve brought along hundreds of pictures but it’s kinda impossible to post them all in here! Anyway I hope you enjoyed the Niagara tour in your own way via the entries
.
waaaaaaaaaaaa butterflies !!! I love butterflies but I haven’t seen one in years now..
HEEHHE
the butterflies are so fat n squishy…r u thinknig wat im thinknig?
HEY!i enjoyed your niagara falls posts…its short n sweet!
To Aline,
As odd as it may seems,I haven’t seen many butterflies in Mauritius lately. They used to be flying here and there in my garden but I guess even the butterflies are running away from the too hot summer these days!
I had to travel to the other side of the world to admire butterflies
Hahahhaa!!!
To Pink Cotton,
OMG…are you thinking to feast on those fat butterflies?
*whisper*
MWAHAHAHA!!!
There’s hundreds more out there
> .
-_- i was expecting to see NIAGARA, the REAL one. lol.
mwahah that third butterfly shot looks like a fish’s head on a plate. they are poisonous?
To James,
Huh?? o.O
The real Niagara Falls is on the previous post!!! -_-’ Being away from the net is not gud for you,eh?
A fish head?!LOL!!!
Hmm..nah they’re not poisonous!Else I would have been dead by now!I spent like an hour in the conservatory with all the butterflies. And besides if they were dangerous I don’t think the conservatory would let people in…
Butterflies can be dangerous though..if people are allergic to ‘em!
I was trying to type this sign < (less than sign) but your blog has a bug that eliminates the rest of the message that comes after the sign
Really?I just tried it and it seems to be ok..
Anyway..!
I bet you were trying to write >.< ??
Woot! Nice pictures!
I have to go there one day. Heehee.
Oh, how pretty! Great pictures!
It kind of reminds me of that Far Side cartoon where a new butterfly emerges from its chrysalis…and flies right into an old spider web hanging nearby.
Can you say “pointless”?
I think the butterfly with the eyespots is called a “buckeye”. I could be totally wrong, though.
To Kyels,
Hehehe I’m sure you’d like it there
To The Moody Minstrel,
The butterfly with the eyespots is not the “buckeye” though it looks like it.Actually the one in the picture is called the blue morpho. Why blue morpho?
Check it out here
I didn’t get the opportunity to take a pic of the eyespot butterfly when it opens its wings
I guess it was too lazy to fly!
Hahaha
And the other blue morphos I saw flying here n there were way too far to snap a proper photo.
*sigh*
wah.. the butterfly’s eye very hypnotizing.. @@
nice trip!
what is it you get from staring at butterflies anyway? i find them pretty boring insects.
PS:
indeed, was trying to >.
That butterfly is really unique
We called butterfly in Indonesia “kupu-kupu” (read: koopookoopoo), not “mentega terbang”, (butter = mentega, fly = terbang), hahaha.. ok, ok, ok… what a dry joke
No, Selba, butter is not dry.
you have been reminded of your tropical island for only one minute? how sad!
just kidding…yep, thanks for sharing with us!!! really beautiful!
To _butt,
Don’t stare for too long!
Hahahaha!!!
To James,
I think all insects are boring!

But at least butterflies are nice to look at,eh?
To Waz,
Yeh!!Just for a tiny little minute!How pathetic I know
Wow, so many butterflies

They are so pretty and I bet the place is nice and soothing
To Zeroimpact,
For sure the place was really nice
.So exotic!
